Thanksgiving Turkey Burger
I'm not really sure where this idea came from. Most of the times I create something, it's because I see a recipe online or on the TV and use that as the starting gate for what I want to make. But this one is different. I was thinking about how Thanksgiving is coming up and this idea just popped into my head. I didn't know how it would come out, but I decided to go with it.. a turkey burger with stuffing, toppedwith cranberry sauce. It is the ultimate Thanksgiving leftover sandwich with a twist. And let me tell you, it is awesome.
Ingredients
- 1 package ground turkey
- 2 tbsp poultry seasoning
- 1 tbsp thyme
- 1/4 cup cornmeal
- A box of stuffing mix
- Cranberry sauce
- Rolls
Directions
- In a large bowl mix the poultry seasoning, thyme and cornmeal.
- Prepare the stuffing mix according to the directions.
- Take the amount of meat you would use for a turkey burger and split it in half.
- Make two patties out of these halves, put some stuffing in the middle of one, and cover with the other. Make sure the edges overlap so all of the stuffing is covered.
- Repeat with the rest of the meat.
- Put the burgers in the fridge to firm up a bit.
- Cook burgers on grill until the chicken is fully cooked.
- Put on rolls, top with cranberry sauce
